Letters of Reccomendation
Here are some letters of reccomendation from various sources.
Karl von der Ehe, English Teacher
Over the last two years, I have had the privilege to teach Nick in English. Throughout this period of
time, he has developed into a student many teachers would label as having the qualities all high school
students should have in order to be successful at the collegiate level. Despite being a senior and
knowing his college career will start in the near future, Nick continues to hone the skills that make him
an exceptional student, separating him from many of his peers.
Nick has a natural passion for learning. His thirst for knowledge drives him to be the first student
through the doors of his school, anxiously waiting to discuss course material with teachers. I know all
too well that half of the battle in college is being committed to one's studies and taking the initiative to
complete tasks independently; Nick clearly demonstrates these characteristics.
Nick's self-discipline and ability to manage his time effectively accommodate his desire to seek
knowledge, producing a combination of skills where learning thrives. His curious nature gives him the
ability to ask questions when he needs clarification on course content. He believes in seeking answers,
not waiting until they come to him. If I leave out details while delivering instruction, Nick is the first to
point out my omissions.
Teaching Nick in English 101 and 102, it is clear he has the tools needed to be a successful college
student. He is an asset to MTCHS, and I know he will be more than a statistic at any institution of higher
education. I invite you to contact me with any inquiries you may have in regard to Nick's character,
integrity, academic ability or anything that comes to mind. I may be reached at 208-288-2928 or
karl.vonderehe@mtchs.org.
Sincerely,
Karl von der Ehe

To Whom It May Concern:
Nicholas Butler has been my student for the past four years in various classes including Computer Technology, Entrepreneurship, Web/Media Design, and Economics at Meridian Technical Charter High School (MTCHS). Nicholas has performed very well, and he and I have formed a very close bond. He has excelled in each of my classes earning mostly A grades. Nicholas applied for the Dean scholarship at BSU. Due to confusion, Nicholas may have turned the application in late. As Nicholas’ teacher, I ask BSU to reconsider the scholarship opportunity for him.
Nicholas is determined to receive a Bachelor’s degree from Boise State University (BSU) in preparation for his career goal as an Aerospace Engineer. Nicholas is an extremely talented computer technologist, and has many other interests including electronics, engineering, programming and robotics. Nicholas uses these skills to create professional projects for class and at his internship with Social Eyes Media. Throughout all his work, he always strives for perfection and to create the best product possible. Nicholas is also a very good at business. His entrepreneurship projects have been thought provoking and very well done.
Nicholas has the skills, talent, and academic capability to be very successful at BSU. This scholarship will take the financial burned of college off his mind, so he can focus on the importance of his academic work. Nicholas works very hard, and at times, seems tireless in his efforts. He wants to put the same effort into his work at BSU. The scholarship will allow him to focus solely on his work, rather than having to work to put himself through college.
Not only is Nicholas an excellent technologist, I have had time to get to know Nicholas personally. Nicholas is truly a wonderful individual who is a pleasure to know, confident, and will be a success. His enthusiasm for technology, engineering, and programming is nothing short of contagious. His positive attitude towards life and work are equally as engaging. Nicholas needs to dedicate his time to working on his passion full-time. Please reconsider him for the Dean scholarship, as I know he will take full advantage of it by succeeding at BSU.
I have complete confidence that Nicholas can not only succeed at BSU, but can excel. Many of my students have attended and graduated BSU. I know Nicholas will not disappoint BSU, his family, and most importantly himself. I humbly ask you to give Nicholas a chance to obtain the Dean scholarship to assist him achieve his post-secondary goals.
Very truly yours,
Lee Eyerman, B.S.B.A., J.D.
